Theogony is the Greek Mythological tale of the beginning of the universe whereas the 7 days of creation are of a biblical truth. The difference between Theogony and the 7 days of creation is the actions put into the creation. As Christians, we know that God created us for a purpose and that was to glorify Him. Although this sounds like a selfish act it is actually not, after all, he is God of the universe who has no beginning and no end and is almighty. God is the one and only that we have to praise. Theogony is made up of many different gods used for certain circumstances, creating a chaotic lifestyle and leading the world into destruction since there is no higher authority to report to. Theogony was created out of randomness and therefore its purpose and its olympian gods are pointless. Their selfish desires for man and earth create an uneasiness to the way they live and is displayed through their stories. Thus, how you start will affect the road ahead as well as the ending.

The difference between Theogony and the Biblical Seven days is where it all originates. In theogony, it all starts with Chaos and Night and killings from father to son and a struggle for dominance. In the Biblical story, it all originates from the power of God who, in his omnipotence, created the universe and all that we know with mere words, not his blood creating monsters all “willy-nilly”. Our God i a god of order and not confusion, all of his actions and words are for a purpose, whether we see it or not.

Theogony is the ancient tale of creation from the perspective of the Greeks belief in “the gods” where as the seven days of creation is the truth of how the world had come into existence. The difference between Theogony and creation is not only the truth it hold but the whole process of how our world had came forth. Theogony is the process that larger more descriptive things come out of broader categorized things, like moving from night to love. Creation was the segment in the beginning where God created everything from himself which he knows and contains all life. The difference between the two is that Theogony went from disorder to order back to disorder while Creation go’s from order to disorder due to mans sin.
