Welcome to Miss Loock’s World Literature Class at Calvary Chapel High School.
You now have a year of high school behind you, and you are ready to embark on a new journey… a journey out of Freshmen Composition and into Sophomore World Literature. Throughout the course of the year we will travel the world together. Through the hills of Mt. Olympus, pass the temples in Antigone, into the cold, wet orphanage of Jane Eyre, over the Egyptian pyramids with Jason, across the Atlantic Ocean to the green light on the end of Gatsby’s dock and into a WW2 concentration camp with Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel. So, grab your literary passport and jump into lives of the characters who are legendary in the worlds their authors have created.
I cannot wait to meet you, discuss literature with you and dive into the fine print of writing.
